  • Collaborations to Understand Research and Ethics (CURE)
  • Northwest Association for Biomedical Research, Seattle, WA
    Grade level: 9-12
    Resource: Summer workshop focused on biomedical research ethics. In Y1-3, the program is 2 weeks long and includes both residential and experiential components. In Y4-5, a shorter program is offered. Follow-up dates occur throughout the year.

    Resource: An online course in Research Ethics, offered through the University of Washington Extension. The course is designed primarily for secondary science teachers and explores both concepts in research ethics as well as strategies for teaching those concepts.

    Resource: Week long summer institutes for middle and high school teachers, an infectious disease lecture series for teachers and a teacher guide for visiting the Disease Detectives exhibition.

  • Health and Biomedical Science for a Diverse Community (Phase II)
  • Children's Hospital and Research Center at Oakland, Oakland, CA
    Grade level: 4-5
    Resource: Educator workshops to enhance the skills of teachers and after school personnel to teach scientific investigation and to incorporate the latest findings in biomedical science across the curriculum.
